Memento is headquartered in France, within the European Union, and is therefore fully subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
About Memento
Memento is an event photo management platform built for organizers and photographers. It allows them to:
- Send every guest only the photos they appear in, securely and in full compliance with data protection rules.
- Handle event photos in a GDPR-compliant way at every step: capture, transfer, storage and delivery.
- Respect attendees' rights over their personal data, since photos count as personal data under the GDPR. This includes the right to access, delete and port their data.
To make this possible, Memento may use biometric data to identify attendees. The GDPR classes this type of processing as sensitive and subjects it to stricter rules.
How we keep processing compliant
- An impact assessment was carried out and then submitted to the CNIL for prior consultation, in accordance with Article 35 of the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 ("GDPR").
- Biometric processing for identification purposes is subject to the explicit consent of users upon registration.
- User consent is limited in scope and duration to the strict minimum. A user can therefore only consent to biometric processing within the context of a specific event.
- Users have full control over the personal data collected, stored and managed with Memento. They can withdraw their consent and delete all of their personal data at any time.
- All data collected and processed by Memento is encrypted both in transit and at rest, and stored in Belgium (EU).
- We have implemented a customizable data retention policy that adapts to the requirements and standards of the large corporate groups and institutions we work with.
